I was recently invited to my friend, Margaret's house for a visit. She just had a beautiful porch/mudroom added on and wanted to honor God with it. She asked if I would come write scripture on the backside of the siding. She and I spent a good half hour, looking up and writing scripture that pertained to parenting, the home, and teaching children about the Lord. It was so cool! She will know those scriptures are there, surrounding her and her family.
My favorite one I wrote that I thought was very fitting was Deuteronomy 6:5-9,
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bid them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."
