Praise You in This Storm

(A storm brewing behind this grave marker at a pioneer cemetery we visited)

I woke up and saw the news of the devastating storms that hit parts of the US today. My little Jacob said, "We need to pray for them." Oh yes, we do.

Looking at those photos, I could see such a parallel of the destruction in my own life. We have had a loss. Nothing will ever be the same again. We have a new normal.

"I Will Praise You in This Storm"  from Casting Crowns started playing and I was struck almost dumbfounded. Satan wants us "to curse God and die". I refuse. He has pushed me closer to the One who created me, loves me and wants His best for me and my family.

I choose to praise Him in this storm. It is a sacrifice of praise because it hurts. But feelings don't matter at this point. The promises of God do.

"Greater is He in that is in you, than he that is in the world."

Here is a link to this song.  As you listen, raise your hands with me, cry out for our family. We need you to stand with us and praise Him in the storm.

Living one hour at a time,

Dear Stacie,

Yes, we shall continue to pray for you and your family!!!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Continue to be strong and keep your faith in the Lord!
Let me know if I can help in any way!

Dear Stacie ~ Praying for you all my friend. Life can be so difficult at times...keep your eyes fixed on the ONE Who is in control of it all!! Isaiah 26:3-4 and Psalm 46 have been such a blessing to my heart especially in our recent times of sorrow....may they be used to comfort your soul as well.

Love to you!

Through some extremely difficult life lessons, one piece of God-given advice that pulled me through so many trials was to "find joy in ALL things." Sometimes, I had to search for the joy, then it becomes sort of a soul-treasure-hunt to do this during the worst moments. In all moments, even the most horrible, there is joy to be found. Even a POW who talked about his years of hostage and the beauty of a small ray of sun coming through the in all things. When you have hit rock-bottom in life and come up against insurmountable events, this has much deeper meaning, especially when it is hard-learned. I do praise him in the's the most beautiful time to offer praise. I have songs I sing to the Lord in my darkest hours. Thinking of you.

Praise you in the Storm song is awesome as it helped me through a few struggle times in my life. Recently I've learned how close God is to us. Stretch out your right arm and He is right there! Keep on believing in God, keep your eyes on the prize....Hebrews 12. Hugs and prayers, my friend!

Oh Stacie,
I feel I have missed something here. I'm so sorry for your storm. I understand the "new normal" term and it's not always easy but keep your eyes on Him and he will bring you through the storms and bring blessings on the other side.
Praying for you and your family!
From one who also has had to learn to live " a new normal "

So often a song has pulled me closer to God. The words can be so powerful, but music has a special way of touching the heart. Our prayers will be with you, and God will be there for you.

Praying for you here! I know too well learning to live a "new normal". A loss that shakes our very foundations allows us to learn and grow and rebuild stronger. I pray the Lord hold you and your family close during the stormy weather.

In my distress I cried to the Lord, and He heard me. Psalm 120:1

Love that pic, Stacie! You are not alone in this storm. We are standing together as a family. Arms linked, holding each other up to keep from falling and to give each other strength when one of us is weak. I love you more than words can say, Sis!
