Sometimes You Just Gotta Laugh!

Mothering can be so serious and intense as you train, discipline and disciple your children. There are not nearly enough times where we just laugh!
I want to smile more! I want to laugh when something like this happens...
Jessica left the black ink from our quill and ink set out. She had it EVERYWHERE! On her, on the counter, and the floor. I didn't know if it was permanent or not. I started to freak in my usual way, but as I grabbed the the baking soda, someone did something to make it worse and in my animated way I accidentally flung baking soda everywhere!
That is when we all broke down laughing hysterically. Josh thought I looked so funny, he snapped this picture. You can't see it, but the baking soda is in my hair, on my face, on my clothes and all over the floor! After a good laugh at Mom, we all proceeded to clean up the baby and the the mess. This reminds me of a devotion I did called, "Where's Your Smile, Mom?" Check it out!

Good for you, Stacie! It is good to see you so strong, so full of the Spirit, and so enjoying your life...such as it is in each moment.

Stacie,

Love those pictures! Great reminder to take things in stride and find the joy in them all. I struggle with that myself so often. I keep reminding myself that those incidents are not what will mold my children's character...but my reactions to them will! Thanks for reminding me to laugh more!

Great way to handle the situation! How you treat your children lasts much longer than a spill or stain. We all face this as Mom's, some days harder then others, but we are the example our children will follow. They will remember this day fondly and with laughter! ;-)
Blessings,
Jill

Very funny Stacie. It's so easy to just walk around angry all day (well it as at my house anyway, there are always "accidents")! Love the photo :)

Good thoughts on laughter. It's a stress reliever and the kids will remember that you didn't get overly upset! Hugs! Love the photos!

Don't you just love it when this happens. Boy oh boy...ha ha!! Good thing you chose to turn it into something "funny" and memorable. :)

It's good to laugh at ourselves from time to time. I'll bet this little mess will go down in the history book of memories as a funny moment to look back on :)

I absolutely feel you on this one. My three got a hold of paint the other day. Let's just say their "artwork" is still smeared on the window. I had to look at the beauty of it and realize they just wanted to be crafty, not at all trying to be bad. :)

Perfect reminder! I am learning this lesson, slowly : ) We definitely need to laugh more as mothers ... I tend to always be so "motherly" minded, getting to the tasks of the day. Just gotta stop and find the little (or big) things to laugh at! Thank you!

Hahahaha Stacie! This was so funny...though you probably didn't feel so sure of that when you first saw this mess! I love those huge messes that are so bad you just gotta laugh!

God Bless you and your children Stacie!
