The day after Mother's Day, I officially weaned Lily. It was a hard road, but God even used the process of weaning to speak to me in His Word. I will be sharing a devotion soon about that, so stay tuned.
I have enjoyed nursing so much. It was something that I did reluctantly with my first three (click here to read my "Baby Jail" story).
Now it will be something that I will forever miss. It is such a special time between mother and baby. I'm so glad God turned me heart around.
If I wouldn't have had to have been away from her due to our anniversary trip, I probably would have nursed her as long as she wanted to. But I needed to put my marriage first and be content with the 14 months I did get to nurse her. That is the longest I have ever gone, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you, Lord!

Aaaah, Stacie, she is so pretty, so darling. I'm rejoicing with you that the Lord has blessed you with such a fine time with your last, Little LillyPie. May God bless you in the time with your hubby.

Oh :( sad that you had to wean but also happy too at the blessing breastfeeding gave your precious Lily! I hope you enjoy your anniversary weekend away, time away for hubby and wife is soooo very important!!
When I weaned my 2 year old (while pregnant with my 8 month old) it was the one of the hardest things I have done, I wrote about it here -

I read back thru your link to your baby jail posts, its amazing what God can speak to our hearts!!!

It's a hard thing to do, I know. We had 18 months and the first time my daughter wanted me after we stopped, it broke my heart.

My milk dried up the second week. But I have those special memories. I have thyroid dysfunction, so it was a miracle that I could do it at all.

I am so glad that you and your hubby got away. It is so important.

Have a wonderful day.

Stacie she is just beautiful!!! I know how bittersweet weaning is. :) I look forward to your devotion on the subject.

I hope your time away with Steve is absolutely wonderful. I am praying that God will knit your hearts together and give you a freshness as a couple...that He will bless you in such a way that you enjoy and delight in your time together...that you will return refreshed and more in love than ever! It is fantastic that you get this time!!! Enjoy!

Sus GORGEOUS pictures Stacie!! How beautiful she is!! How precious that God gave you those 14 months of nursing. I loved nursing my babies too! One of mine weaned himself before I was ready ~ he was one year old...he actually LAUGHED at me...on more than one occasion!! That's how I knew we were finished. He got all set to nurse and threw his head back and laughed like it was a big joke! Oh. Dear. Me. That was a bit traumatic...LOL...the things they do hey? :) I trust you had (will have?) a FABULOUS time away with your hubby...God is GOOD!!

With Love,

She is so gorgeous!!!! I always nursed my kids until they were one. But with Jacob, I did not completely wean until he was almost 13 months. It can definitely be a bittersweet time in a momma's life. I just can't get over how beautiful she is in these pictures!! :)

That is why I can't think about weaning as "this might be the last time ever"

You made it a long time though!

Those pictures are too precious! I especially loved the one of her eyes. So sweet!

I know this has been hard for you. I've gone through it, too. I pray you'll be able to look forward to the new stage of life you are on and look backward with fond memories, but no regrets.

Love ya, Sis!

Breastfeeding is such a wonderful time. I am dreading the time when I wean my last baby :( It must feel strange to have your body back! Treasure those special memories :)
Hope you have a wonderful, refreshing time away and can enjoy being a couple (without being a mum and dad for while!).

Little Lily is so precious, as are your other children. A special gift from God. Hope you and hubby have a wonderful time together for your anniversary. Sometimes it's hard putting hubby/marriage first. I remember well the first time away from both was hard and we all lived through it. Have a wonderful life with hubby and children that you were blessed with!

Stacie...the first photograph of Lily is just adorable!

I am looking forward to reading your devotion on this topic! I struggled breastfeeding both my two children. With my last I fed him for two weeks and at the end I was ready to give was so painful and every midwife assured me he was latched on properly?

I turned to expressing in my efforts to give him as long as possible and was able to express for one month before my milk dried up. I hope to be more sucessful breastfeeding this third time around! I will be praying about it!

Thank you for sharing your milestone!
