Our Surgery Champ!

I first want to say, thank you so much for all of you who prayed for us as Andrew went into surgery yesterday. The outpouring of love from all of you was just plain and simply overwhelming!

Andrew's doctor is going to mark where he is going to make the incision. We just loved this doctor. Very laid back and great with kids! You can't help but feel relaxed around this guy.
Andrew did so good. He got a little worried only once, but Steve was so good with him. Steve just hates to see his kids fearful. I love this picture that I caught of them snuggling.
Here is the arrow pointing to his Achille's (sp?) heel where the doc is going to make the incision. After cutting the skin, they then go in and slice part-way through the tendon, stretch it and then put a cast on his leg so it will remain straight and flat.
Here is our little guy when he finally woke up after surgery. He is so proud of his fire-engine red cast! We are all having a blast signing it! It is so cool to see his foot at a 90 degree angle even if it is in a cast.

This day couldn't have gone any better. He was such a trooper and Steve and I were very relaxed. No tears from either of us or from Andrew. It was truly an exciting, joyous time to know that healing is going to take place in Andrew's foot. We have prayed a long time for wisdom to know what to do. The answer came and the Lord has blessed us.

He will have the cast on for a month and then we will brace it at night for awhile. They said he will be weak in this leg for about a year, but it should eventually even out.

I am so glad that everything went well. It is amazing what can be done now. Some doctors are so blessed by God.

I hope that you don't mind me putting a note on my blog for Andrew. I realized after I posted it that I hadn't told you I did.

What a touching picture of your hubby and Andrew. Almost brought tears to my eyes.

Have a wonderful day.

I praise God with you for the medical knowledge that leads to healing...God's healing.

Will he have the procedure done on the other foot eventually?

So glad to read Andrew did so well...and so did his parents! It's not easy to be in the waiting room while our kids are receiving medical care, but what joy that you had a doctor you all felt at ease with. God is so good!

Wow.....I love the red cast. It couldn't be more appropriate for our little firefighter. I am tickled to hear how well it went. How good God is.. Hope Chinese food hit the spot and he felt like a little prince all day.
Hugs!

Glad to hear things went well, I've been really swamped editing photos from the Childrens Hsp. fund raiser we did last weekend, so just doing a quick check in on the blogs while pics are uploading. Take care.

Time to pray for the cast to survive Andrew! Am praising the Lord for how well it's gone.

It's so good they are doing this while he is young. He might be active but at least he has more time (as in youth time) to recoup.

Glad it all went well!

I am SO THANKFUL it went so well! The picture of Steve snuggling with him brought tears to my eyes. What a blessing to have his sweet mama and his strong daddy by his side. I know he felt safe and secure! I am thanking God for giving each of you wisdom in deciding what should be done and in the actual doing of the surgery. How wonderful!!! Now, continued prayers for you as you manage a little boy bound by his cast! :)

Stacie, I have been so very preoccupied with real life these past two weeks, I have taken very little time to stop by and visit my blogging friends. I have missed so much. I see that Andrew has had surgery but that it went very well. I am so glad. I loved Lilly's pictures of her eating her birthday cake. She is so adorable. I am going to try to stop by more frequently and get a few more posts up in the next week too. I miss you and all of my blogging friends when you and all my blogging friends when I wait so long to stop by or hear from you. :)
