Longing For Rest!

Can you imagine sleeping like this? It looks so deep and so blissfully sweet! Do you ever get jealous over your two-year old's ability to sleep so soundly? How about the dog? Even the dog gets more sleep than I do! LOL! We were putting on a very LOUD Nativity play while Jacob and Snickers slept soundly away on the couch for two hours.

Since my baby is still getting up to nurse three times a night, I say to myself, "This too shall pass". Someday, I will sleep again. In the meantime, I will choose to be thankful for the sleep that I did manage to get. The verse I cling to is ,"He grants sleep to those He loves."

He gives me what I need, when I need it.

Amen?

Well...I know God provides and will pray he grants you rest. My baby girl didn't let me sleep through the night until she was 2! I can't tell you the number of times I held her crying to God for sleep.

We know it's all worth it. Hang in there because before too long, you'll be loosing sleep over the kids going off to college, etc.

I'm not sure if I will sleep through the night again, ever!!

When I was a teenager I would always wonder why my grandma would get up so early and why she didn't need as much sleep as me.

Now I know - you get used to only needing so much and when your kids are grown and you get them all in a row you get up early ;)

I do love the picture!

I'm with ya. Mary will sleep 4-5 hours straight one night and the next night, she's up every hour. I like snuggling in bed with her though. I think she just wakes up to be reassured that we're still here.

I hope you get some rest soon.

Love the photo! I am jealous over that kind of sleep!
Yes...you will survive. The older I get the less sleep I seem to need. And I can't take a nap in the afternoon either....dang!

That is so cute! Yes! That will soon pass. So enjoy it! Sleep will always be with you, your children will not> :) It is so good when we find it though, huh?

Oh my friend I am sorry you don't get much rest(you do very good on little rest). You will get it. Just think if all you did some days is rest, it gets so boring and lonely.
I agree with Parsley you will lose sleep over the kids all through their lives. Then you become Grandma and it begins again. Isn't it LOVE great,I love it.

First my kids kept me awake, now my bones do. Time to pray and hopefully drift off to sleep again.

Matt. 11:28...Come unto me all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.

I pray this for you, Stacie. I'm awake in the night with hot flashes and pain, praying that YOU are asleep.

May God not only bless you with rest, but with refreshment when you wake, no matter how much rest you get. It would be nice to conk out like Jacob and Snickers though.

I hear ya on the lack of sleep!! Going on 9 months of sleep deprivation here. I found that I have to pray for patience to get through the night, rather than a full night's sleep, or else I wind up disappointed. ;)

Jealous of the dog? I never thought of it that way, but I could see how that could happen, LOL!
