Dream Comes True!

We have been saving money for three years to buy a van. We got serious about looking a month or two ago and got our friend, Paul on top of it. He deals with vans because he is a Capt. in The Salvation Army and they always have church vans. He found this one locally. God enabled the price to be half of what we had saved! I even talked them down $1,100 dollars from their sale price!
It is a 2001 Dodge Ram 12 passenger. It only has 70,000 miles on it!
The kids are sooooo excited to not have to climb all over each other to get seated. This is truly God's provision. I realized that this is the first vehicle that we have ever bought with cash (besides the scooter). We have always had to get a loan. We are really trying to stay debt-free and honor the Lord with our finances. I truly believed we are blessed. I'm so glad we had to wait for it. It just makes it that much sweeter. Thank you, Lord!

We are not getting rid of the Suburban because we will still need the 4x4 to get up the driveway in the winter.

What a wonderful gift! And all your kidlettes look so comfortable. You have room for camping gear too, so we'll see you when you get back (just kidding, of course).

Unfortunatly, there is hardly any cargo space. If we wanted to go camping we would have to get a tow package (which we plan to do) to haul the trailer behind it. It has a small V-8 engine, so it should do just fine!

We are believing for our van to come soooooon. We have outgrown ours by two babies. Yep....we've been driving two vehicles for the past 2 years. I know God knows our need...THE VAN WILL SOON COME.

So happy for you !!!! Yay!!!

That is just so cool! I'm so excited that you guys were able to buy it for cash and at such a great deal. Paul is awesome! The kids look so happy.

Wow! That is wonderful Stacie! I could use a 12 passenger van myself some days. My five kids and a couple of their friends and myself makes my eight passenger van maxed out. What a blessing from the Lord!

Oh, Chris, I feel for you. I'm thankful we never had to do that! The old Sub was maxed out, though and very SQUISHY!

That's SO awesome! I read where you might need to get a tow pkg...that "extra" savings you had to put toward the van may be provision for that need! How exciting to pay cash for your vehicle and know it's all yours as your sweet family is drivin' around town in it! Very wise of you, and very exciting!

I wanted to add something to what I had said before. Yes, we've been waiting for two whole years. But you know what I found out in the midst of this. Just recently....I found this out as I was praying to the Lord about the van situation.

Here is my conversation I had:

Me: Lord I know you have provided for this van. What's the hold up though?

Lord: You know I have given you the van. I always provide for my kids.

Me: But I don't know why it's been 2yrs. What's wrong with us. (he then reminds me of some scriptures)

Lord: Remember I reward those who diligently seek me. and those who ask will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be open.

I went to my bible and read this a few times over. I didn't say anything, but thank you Lord and had a big smile on my face because of revelation that just came to me.

You see, my husbands sales have been up and down for the past 2 yrs and were not looking for the van because we didn't have much to purchase one with. So basically we stood still in this area. Oh yeah, we were still believing God and thanking Him every day for it. What the Lord revealed was that....yes I have asked him but I haven't been seeking....and once I find it....I will knock.....and it will be opened. God is so good. Because of my lack of seeking, so to say, I've been without a van....LOL Sometimes we want to say that God maybe didn't hears us....but you know what He does and He is just waiting for us to get up and receive His blessings.

Just wanted to share!!!

Chris, that is so cool. Thanks for sharing! That pretty much describes how we got this house. The Lord is so wonderful and I'm glad He makes us wait for things. When we do recieve His blessings, we truly know they are from Him and we appreciate them that much more.

I'm praying up a van for you!!!

As we are in the active Dave Ramsey plan right now, I am jumping up and down for y'all!!

The only car we ever paid cash for was my husband's truck. It was pretty cheap, and doesn't even fit half of us!

But, it gets him back and forth to work, which was the point.

Can't wait here myself to get our next vehicle with cash.

Congrats on a job well done, and especially that you still have money left over, what a wonderful feeling!
